We're currently experiencing performance issues with the storage
that our VPS's use. Symptoms you may experience can range from
occasional lags when running commands or programs in your VPS,
right up to fairly often-occuring disk i/o pauses.
We're working on this with a high priority and will update this
status item as we work through the issue.
So far we've all but eliminated network and network devices as
the bottleneck, as well as the storage itself. We're currently
looking at our ISCSI configuration, which is where the slowdown
seems to occur at this point.
UPDATE 2010-08-12: We made a configuration
change on 2010-08-06 that increased the proportion of CPU time
available to each host server when customers VPS' CPU utilization
was high.
In monitoring performance in the following week, we are
satisfied that this change has resulted in the host servers
processing I/O requests quickly even during peak VPS
utilization.
